Christina Aguilera’s Indio concert canceled
Christina Aguilera will not be taking the stage tonight at the Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino as planned due to “technical issues,” according to the venue.
The singer’s concert was canceled because of “unforeseen technical issues,” Fantasy Springs announced around noon.
Aguilera’s website does not list any other cancellations on her current “Liberation” tour, which is scheduled to run through Nov. 13.
The Public Relations Manager for Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, Chris Lavoie, told CBS Local 2 and News Channel 3 that the safety concerns had to do with the performance stage. “Christina’s tour manager had some concerns with the stage that we were remedying to their satisfaction at the time of load-in,” Lavoie said in a statement. “Unfortunately, her tour decided to leave the property while we were remedying any concerns they had. We are not sure of the exact reason why they left.”
Fantasy Springs officials said ticketholders can return their tickets to the box office or call (800) 827-2946 for a full refund. Questions should be referred to the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino Box Office.
The casino spokesperson also stressed that safety is important to the venue. “In the history of Fantasy Springs, there has never been a safety issue nor has any artist ever been in danger. No artist has ever been injured, and we produce over 75 events a year with an impeccable safety record.”
