PSPD holds no questions asked drug take back program
This Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. and the Palm Springs Police Department is stepping in to aid in the day’s efforts. From 10 a.m to 2PM on Saturday, PSPD welcomes anyone looking to dispose of expired or unused prescription drugs, no questions asked.
“We take back any unwanted or unused prescription drugs,” said Drug Enforcement Agency Palm Springs Task Force Group Supervisor Daniel Dobas. “No questions asked and we take custody of them and we take them to an EPA-approved incinerator for destruction.”
The Palm Springs Police Department station is located at 200 S. Civic Drive Palm Springs CA 92262.
“Proper disposal of medication is a public safety issue. Unused prescription medications often find their way into the mouths of children, pets or adults who were not prescribed the medication and are not aware of the effects. Often times, these side effects could lead to serious illness or death,” reads the PSPD news release.
