Traffic collision seriously injuries two in Indio
Police and firefighters were on the scene of a crash in Indio on Hoover Street across from Monroe Street early Friday morning.
The collision happened at just after 2:00 a.m. according to Cal Fire Riverside’s Twitter.
One person suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
A second person had to be cut from the wreckage and was taken to a hospital via helicopter.
The crash caused damage to a power line requiring repairs from Imperial Irrigation District crews.
Indio Police recommend motorists avoid the area until the scene is clear.

According to an IID worker on the scene, no power was affected to any customers.
