Two arrested for allegedly robbing, assaulting, & leaving victim in the desert

Two arrested for allegedly robbing, physically assaulting, & leaving the victim in the desert afterwards.

According to a news release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, on December 17, deputies were alerted to the 65000 block of 4th Street in Joshua Tree at around 4:21 AM for a report of a suspicious woman.

Deputies said when they spoke with the woman she had visible injuries to her face and was disoriented.

The woman told investigators she was at a home in Morongo Valley where she met a man, later identified as Jeremy Harper, and another woman, later identified as Samantha Rodriguez. She said the man offered her a ride back to her house so she, the man, and the other woman all left in the man’s vehicle. The man did not take her home, and after a few stops, he drove out in the desert off Sunfair Road in Joshua Tree.

The woman said in the desert she was confronted by both suspects. When she got out of the vehicle, she was physically assaulted. Both suspects took her property and left her in the desert.

Harper and Rodriguez were arrested in their homes on Dec. 20. They were booked at West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $200.000 dollars bail.
