Passing showers, mountain snow expected Saturday and Sunday

As you start your day, anticipate mostly cloudy skies ahead of a winter storm expected to arrive later today. Later this afternoon there are increased chances for precipitation around Southern California. Locally, most of the rain will be happening during the late evening hours and through Sunday morning.

No more than 0.10″ of rainfall accumulation is expected in the desert. Above half an inch is expected farther west closer to the coast. Be cautious driving on slippery roads.

A winter weather advisory is in place for later today in the San Bernardino County and Riverside County Mountains. Snow levels are expected to drop to 4500 feet at the lowest with most of the snowfall happening after midnight tonight. 3-6″ are expected at lower levels with more than 10″ expected above 8,000 feet.

Following this system, calmer and drier conditions. There is a slight chance for precipitation on Wednesday. Warmer temperatures should arrive late next week.
