Three seriously hurt after mobile home fire in Anza

Three people were hospitalized with severe burns when a fire tore through a mobile home in Anza Saturday morning.

The fire broke out at 5:14 a.m. in the 39000 block of Contreras Road, just north of Cahuilla Road, said April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department.

“The first arriving unit reported a single-story mobile home well-involved in fire, with flames through the roof,” she said.

Two adults were airlifted to a hospital with serious burn injuries while a third adult was transported to a hospital via ground ambulance with moderate to serious burn injuries, Newman said.

The fire was contained by 6:05 a.m. and caused an estimated $150,000 in damages, according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
