As the party was winding down, Ulloa allegedly got into an altercation with other party guests, pushing a man who retaliated by punching Ulloa, an arrest warrant declaration states. That victim told investigators that Ulloa approached the group and pointed a gun at him, causing him to respond by punching Ulloa, according to the declaration.

After sheriff’s deputies circulated Ulloa’s photograph to the public, he turned himself in to police weeks after the shooting.

In addition to the attempted murder counts, he faces three counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, one count of negligent discharge of a firearm, and several sentence-enhancing allegations for using a firearm and causing great bodily injury.
