Cathedral City High School band performs at Carnegie Hall

Earlier this week, Cathedral City High School’s symphony band performed at the historic Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The band was one of the other schools from across the United States to perform in the 2019 New York “Sounds of Spring” Festival.

This was the first time since 2007 that the band has auditioned and been selected to go to New York.

According to the Palm Springs Unified School District, the band received a gold rating and a standing ovation for their performance.

During their downtime, students got the chance to go to some of New York City’s most iconic landmarks. Students went to the Times Square, the Brooklyn Bridge, the 9/11 Memorial, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, saw a Broadway musical.

You can learn more about the band and follow their travels through the Big Apple on their Facebook page.
