N Indian Canyon at the wash area re-opens

UPDATE: The Palm Springs Police Department has announced North Indian Canyon at the wash area re-opened Saturday afternoon.

INITIAL REPORT:

North Indian Canyon was closed to all traffic through the Whitewater wash Thursday night due to low visibility and sand piling up on the roadway, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.

According to PSPD, the normally-busy thoroughfare will remain closed through Friday night because of “a large amount of sand in the roadway.” Street crews continue cleaning the roadways Saturday morning.
