Shoppers Prepare For Cyber Monday
PALM DESERT – Black Friday is in the bag, but now it’s on to the next big shopping day – Cyber Monday. More than 96 million people are planning to surf the web for big deals. Shoppers say virtual buying can save time and money.
There is no waking up early, battling crowds, carrying heavy bags or driving store to store.
“You just point, click and there you go,” says online shopper, Jeff Cule.
On Monday, millions are expected to skip in-store lines and hop online, looking for big sales with little hassle.
“It’s a lot easier, a lot easier,” says Cule.
This year, more stores are joining the virtual mall. About 87 percent of retailers will have a special Cyber Monday promotion. Many will offer 50 to 70 percent off or free shipping. Shoppers say, finding the best deal is simple.
“You can click on the computer and it will tell you who has the best prices, it’s great,” says Gary Meyers, online shopper.
As technology grows, electronics are among the top of wish lists.
“I’m looking for computers, lap tops, audio equipment.” says online shopper, Herman Munoz.
Yet, some people say they’d rather shop at actual stores.
“I like to feel and know what I’m getting and buying,” says Fernando Fimbres.
However, seasoned virtual shoppers say you can learn even more about what you’re buying, by going online.
All of the information you need to know is at your finger tips. Cule says research, planning and shopping can all be done in one place.
“Right from the comfort of your home or your office,” says Cule.
The majority of Cyber Monday shopping will be done from home, but about 14 percent of shoppers will log on for easy deals, while they should be hard at work.
