PALM SPRINGS – Monday’ssnow fall was a welcome sight to local mountain areas that rely on people flocking to the snow.

At the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Tuesday, business was brisk.

A good winter season for the Tramway means seeing 30 thousand riders a month during the peak winter months of December, January and February.

While the Tram attracts people from all over the world,Tramway spokeswoman Lena Zimmerschied says it’s the drive-in business that can put it over the top.” We’re a good day trip from LA. We bring a lot of people from LA,a lot of people from San Diego;from the Coachella Valley that want to experience the snow. We’re a good alternative to those week long vacations.”

The Tramwaysees 400 to 420 thousand riders annually.
