Eleven Arrested, Six On The Loose Amid Major Crime Sweep

PALM SPRINGS -Eleven people were arrested and six more are wanted in a massive weapons a drug sweep of Palm Springs.

Police from a long list of agencies made the arrests, this morning, in Palm Springs, Banning, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, and Rancho Mirage.

The arrests resulted from an investigation that began in April, targeting weapon and drug offenders, said Sgt. Mitch Spike of the Palm Springs Police Department.

About 30 weapons were seized in the raid, which was nicknamed “Operation Gatekeeper Heat.” It targeted local criminal street gangs, according to investigators.

Six suspects are still on the loose, and authorities need your help tracking them down. You can see their pictures below. If you have any information, call Palm Springs Police immediately.

The FBI, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Department and Cathedral City and Indio police participated in the raid.
