Palm Springs Indians Win CIF Title

PALM SPRINGS -A huge celebration is underway for Palm Springs High School as the football team wins its first-everCIF title, defeating Serrano (Phelan) 24-14.

At the beginning of the season, Palm Springs head coach Steve Fabian stressed the importance of “finishing.”

There’s no better way to finish than winning theCIF title.

The Indians closed out the season winning their last eight games, and it didn’t look like anyone would stop them from winning it all.

The Indians played stellar defense, holding Serrano’s power rushing attack to just two touchdowns.

The Palm Springs offense saw a huge performance by Nephi Garcia. The junior running back scored all of the Indians’ points, including two touchdown runs,a kickoff return, and a field goal.

But there’s no doubt this was a team victory.
