Trailer Fire Contained Before Spreading To Nearby Home

INDIO – A fire destroyed a travel trailer, but firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to a nearby home in Indio.

The blaze was reported Sunday at 12:58 p.m. at 83201 Dillon Avenue, east of Jackson Street, said Capt. Fernando Herrera of the Riverside County Fire Department.

Around two dozen firefighters were able to contain the fire within about 15 minutes, but the flames caused minor damage to a fence close to the home, Herrera said.

The cause was under investigation.
