Thermal Couple Accused Of Burglaries While Out On Bail

LA QUINTA -A Thermal couple is accused of burglarizing two La Quinta homes while out on bail for other burglaries.

Police say a neighbor spotted 18-year-old Derek Yescas and 20-year-old Mary Delara acting suspicious yesterday afternoon.

Newschannel 3 has uncovered that sheriff detectives found evidence in one of the victim’s homes: flyers that Mary Delara was handing out.

Delara was in possession of flyers promoting house cleaning services. She would go door to door and if someone was home would hand them a flyer, if not, they would “allegedly” target that home for burglary.

Officers say they found stolen property in their car from two homes, one on the 44-000 block of Marguerite Court; the other onthe 79-000 block of Hennings Way.

Yescas and Delara are in custody, accused of residential burglary and committing a felony while out on bail.
