Man Stabbed In New Year’s Eve Fight

PALM SPRINGS -A Coachella Valley man was stabbed in a New Year’s Eve fight, but is expected to recover from his injuries, police said.

The stabbing happened just before 9 p.m. Thursday on the 17200 Block of Keith Street in the North Palm Springs area, according to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Tom Brewster.

The victim says he was in a fight with another man, who stabbed him and drove away in a yellow, older-model Chevy pick-up, Brewster said.

The victim was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment of his wounds, which do not appear to be life-threatening, according to Brewster.

Police are looking for a white male in his 40s with long blonde hair and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Police ask that anyone with information about the incident call them at (760) 836-1600 or (760) 341-STOP, Brewster said.
