Palm Springs Film Festival Gala Thrills Fans & Guests

PALM SPRINGS -The 21stAnnual Palm Springs International Film Festival Galabrought out Hollywood’s biggest stars to Palm Springs.

One of them being Quentin Tarantino, awarded the Sonny Bono Visionary Award named after the festival’s founder.Tarantino says, “this has been a cool night. It’s been great to get this award with everyone. I want to thank everyone for this.”

By far the most talked about acceptance speech of the night was Mariah Carey’s…if you could call it that.The singer-turned-actress spent several minutes on stage barely putting a sentence together.She was awarded the Breakthrough Actress Performance Award for her role in “Precious.”

Festival favorite Morgan Freeman was presented the Career Achievement Award by none other than Clint Eastwood.Eastwood says introducing Freeman is the easiest job he has ever had to do.

On stage after receiving the award,Freeman said, “I do have a lot of people to thank, but right now I’m going to say thank you to Palm Springs Film Festival, who gave me the opportunity to mingle with high class people. You’re about talked out so I’m about done.”

The awards gala brought out the superstars, but it was the superstars that brought out the fans for that picture and the autograph.

Geena West, from Palm Springs says, “I love it, it’s fun that they take the time to come see us it’s fabulous sign autographs and take pictures with us.”
