Verizon Customers Without Land Line Phone Service & Internet

INDIO- Close to 500 Verizon land line phone and internet customers still aren’t able to use the services they are paying for.

The recent storm that swept through the valley damaged some underground wires. A 4-inch pipe that holds the telephone wires wasn’t pressurized. The water got in and destroyed the entire main cable.

Right now workers are working around the clock to get the repairs done. They are having to replace 800 feet of wire, connecting the 2400 wires individually.

Mike Primicerio owns his own company and works out of his home. Primicerio says, “The lines were down two Mondays ago, why weren’t they working around the clock then?”

The outage is near Avenue 48 and Jackson in Indio. Only Verizon land line and internet customers have been affected. Verizon says all service will be restored by end-of-day Friday. As of Thursday night, workers say they are 75% done.
