New Storm Heads For Southern California

PALM DESERT – The National Weather Service sent out an advisory, today, warning of a strong storm system expected to hit Southern California Friday into Saturday.

The NWS says the storm will bring heavy rains with it – pegging the coast with more than an inch of rain, several inches on the coastal slopes, and a possible quarter-to-half an inch here in the desert.

Forecasters say they anticipate issuing winter weather advisories or watches as Friday progresses, as the snow levels will lower to 5,000 feet.
