Injured Woman Airlifted Off Mt. San Jacinto

PALM SPRINGS – An 80-year-old woman who pulled a groin muscle while hiking around Mt. San Jacinto had to be airlifted off of the mountain earlier today.

Authorities say her injury wasn’t that bad, but the pain prevented her from coming down the mountain herself.

Ground crews fitted her up with the rescue apparatus, while the chopper flew in, carried her down the slope, and dropped her on the 6th hole of the O’Donnel Golf Club in Palm Springs.

She’s expected to be fine.
