South Korean Delegation Visits Palm Springs
PALM SPRINGS – A group of South Koreans will be going homewith some ideas about business opportunities here in the desert.
The 13 member delegation from Asan City, South Korea got a look at how Palm Springs has positioned itself to become a force in the renewable energy industry.
The city showed off College of the Desert’s new Desert Energy Enterprise Center as well as the Wintec Wind Farms.Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet says hosting the South Koreanscould result in adding jobs to the local economydown the road.
“It’s a big manufacturing city Asan City in addition to resort and tourism and it would be wonderful to have some of the facilities. They export goods, comes to Long Beach, move it through Long beach and assemble things here. And our foreign trade zone. I am certain we can improve companies profitability in South Korea by doing business here.”
Pougnet and his counterpart from Asan City ended the visit by signing a friendship agreement.
