Fed Ex Truck And Car Collide On Interstate 10

WHITEWATER – Eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near the Highway 62 onramp were snarled with traffic, this morning, as a Fed Ex tractor-trailer and an Acura collided, causing a big mess.

Investigators tell News Channel 3 the Acura suffered a flat tire, hit a cement mixer parked alongside the interstate, and spun out of control. It then hit the Fed Ex truck, which was carrying tons of mail.

Both the Acura and the truck then careened off the roadway into a ditch.

Remarkably, the driver of the Acura was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. the driver of the Fed Ex truck only suffered scrapes on his face, and was treated at the scene.

None of the mail on the Fed Ex truck was headed to the Coachella Valley, and another truck was sent in to pick up the mail, and bring it back to Los Angeles.
