Gas Prices Drop In Time For Three-Day Weekend

RIVERSIDE -The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire fell eight-tenths of a cent today to $2.95, the lowest since Dec. 30.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 2.2 cents less than a week ago and 9.9 cents less than a month ago, but 69.9 cents more than this time last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has fallen 15 of the past 17 days, but was unchanged Saturday.

Prices traditionally decline in February because of “typically low demand,” Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California told City News Service.
