Burglars Caught Using Blow Torch To Steal Coins From Laundry

CATHEDRAL CITY – Valentine’s Day netted Cathedral City police two suspects accused of stealing money from coin-operated laundry machines.

At about 10:40pm Sunday night, someone saw two people, one with a blow torch, and the other acting as a look-out, breaking into the machines.

Police responded, and caught the them.

Forty-seven-year-old William Nice has had multiple arrests and convictions for theft related crimes, including burglary, car jacking, and thefts.

Thirty-three-year-old Michelle Chapman has a prior arrest for burglary, and at the time of this incident, had a warrant for burglary.

They were booked inthe Riverside County Jail on $100,000 bail, each.
