Private Dance Instructor And Choreographer Facing Child Sex Charges
LA QUINTA – Police have charged a school dance instructor with molesting a girl, and say they have evidence that he solicited sex from other children in the Coachella Valley as well.
Karl Green, 27, of La Quinta, was arrested at his home Friday and booked at the Indio jail on charges of suspicion of unlawful intercourse, sexual penetration, oral copulation and acts by force with a minor and annoying or molesting a child younger than 18 years of age.
His bail is set at $50,000.
The investigation began Feb. 9 when police got a tip that Green had a relationship with a minor from April 2006 to October 2008, said Herlinda Valenzuela, a spokesperson for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Green is a dance instructor for several high schools and private studios in the Coachella Valley.
An investigation revealed Green met a minor at the Desert Valley All- Star Maverick dance studio on the 73600 block of Dinah Shore in Palm Desert and had sex with her in a house in that city, Valenzuela said.
Investigators said they believe Green solicited other girls in Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, La Quinta and Palm Springs.
