Police Chase Locks Down Mecca School

MECCA – A chase involving Riverside County Sheriff’s deputiesled to the lock down of at least one school, just as it was letting out for the day

Deputies responded to a domestic violence call on the 84-000 block of 50th Avenue at 2:35, today, involving a carjacking. A chase followed.

That chase ended nearly an hour later on the 91-000 block of Avenue 66. Four people were detained by authorities.

Meantime, Coachella Valley Unified School District officials tell News Channel 3 that Saul Martinez Elementary School was locked down as a precaution.
