More Rain Headed For Coachella Valley

PALM DESERT -Rain could fall across Riverside County beginning this afternoon, with a chance of snow in the mountains late tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS said a weak upper-level, low-pressure system will bring about a tenth of an inch of rain or less through Thursday morning. A light dusting of snow is expected at the 6,500-foot level and move.

Gusty winds will accompany the storm, especially in the mountains and deserts.

Temperature highs today are expected to be 58 in Banning, 61 in Lake Elsinore, 64 in Riverside, 65 in Temecula and 68 in Palm Springs.

A storm expected to reach the region Friday night is expected to bring as much as an inch of rain and bring snow levels down to 5,000 feet through Saturday night, according to the weather service.
