Power Restored To Palm Springs Customers

More than 24 hours after an explosion caused a massive power outage in southern Palm Springs, nearly 200 people started Wednesday without power.

Southern California Edison says power was finally turned back on at 10:40am.

The company says the first response team completed initial repairs from an underground explosion on Tuesday, but the damage is extensive, and more crews will be out today to complete the process.

Temperatures today are expected to reach 98 degrees.

Nearly 1,200 customers lost power on Tuesday morning due to the explosion, causing some businesses to send their employees home early and close shop.
