Plastic Bag Ban Heads For Governor’s Approval

Governor Schwarzenegger calls it a “great victory for our environment.”

It appears as if California may become the first state in the nation to ban plastic shopping bags as the state senate approved a ban on plastic shopping bags on Friday. The state assembly passed it on Wednesday.

It’s a move supported by environmentalists and grocers alike.

The bill now heads to the governor’s desk for a signature.
