Two Fires Hit Opposite Ends Of Valley Overnight

Two separate house fires damaged a pair of Coachella Valley homes overnight.

Cal Fire says one was an abandoned house in Indio, and the other was a bungalow at a Rancho Mirage country club.

Firefighters were called to a single-family home in Indio on the 43-300 block of Comanche Street at 1:54, this morning.

That fire caused about $30,000 in damage.

In Rancho Mirage, crews were called to a home in the 40-000 block of Paxton Drive around 3:30, this morning.

Firefighters were able to get it under control, but it still caused about $250,000 in damage to the bungalow on the Thunderbird Country Club golf course.

The American Red Cross was called in to help one man who was displaced.

The cause of both fires is under investigation.
