Big Rig Veers Off Interstate 10, Shuts Down One Lane
A big rig that went off eastbound Interstate 10 prompted the closure of the freeway’s slow lane near Chiriaco Summit today.
The driver of the tractor-trailer lost control of the rig at 11:18 a.m. on the interstate east of Hayfield Road, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ramon Perez.
A tow truck was being brought in to help pull the big rig out of the desert, Perez said, adding that the driver was not hurt.
The lane could remain closed until as late as 10:30 p.m., according to the CHP.
