Palm Springs Police Search For Kidnapped 4-Month-Old
Palm Springs police were looking for a man who reportedly kidnapped his 4-month-old son from his mother’s residence at knifepoint on Friday morning.
Police spokesperson Rhonda Long told News Channel 3 the father took the child while threatening the mother with a knife at 11:13 a.m. at the mother’s residence, and told her he was going to kill the child and himself.
He then took off on a silver bicycle westbound on Camino Parocela in Palm Springs, which is in the vicinity of Gene Autry Trail and Ramon Road.
The father, Joseph Bailon, 50, is described as 5 ft. 6 in tall, 185 pounds, salt-and-pepper hair, brown eyes, and riding a silver bicycle with a baby in a Onesie.
He has a violent past, according to the Palm Springs Police Department, including a charge of assault with a deadly weapon and drug related charges. He also has tattoos on his inner-forearms.
