Man Stabbed in Overnight House Party
2 Beaumont men are in jail after violence broke out at an overnight party in La Quinta.
It happened on the 53,000 block of Avenida Villa. Police got the call around 4 a.m. Sunday.
Police say the suspects, identified as 25 year old Charles Laird II and 27 year old Steven Horn, were arguing with several party guests. They then allegedly assaulted a man, stabbing him several times in the chest.
After the attack, police say the men jumped into a car and began to drive off. As they were trying to get away, they hit a female party goer and crashed into several parked cars.
The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries and is expected to be OK.
The woman hit by the car was treated at the scene and released.
Witnesses told police the description of the car. Later that morning, police were able to track down the suspects in Palm Desert at the corner of Washington and Harris streets.
Laird was arrested for felony driving under the influence causing injury, along with felony hit and run. Horn was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and mayhem, causing serious injury.
