Bicyclist Rescued After Swept Into Raging Waters In Palm Springs Wash

A woman who reportedly tried to cross the flooded roadway on Vista Chino in Palm Springs while riding a bicycle has been swept away by the water, prompting a swift water rescue, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.

Witnesses reported the incident at around 2:20 p.m.

Palm Springs Fire crews, Cathedral City paramedics and a swift water rescue team conducted the task of rescuing her from the Palm Springs side of the flooded roadway.

She was escorted out of the wash area about an hour later. The bicycle was left behind.

It was unclear why she went into the area since Vista Chino was barricaded, or if she sustained any injuries during the ordeal.
