Driver Crashes Into Palm Desert Auto Insurance Building
The driver of an SUV wound up on the front stoop of an insurance office when she somehow lost control of her Toyota Tundra on Wednesday.
The accident happened around 1 p.m. at the State Farm Insurance office on the 44700 block of Monterey, just south of San Gorgonio, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Herlinda Valenzuela.
She said the Tundra was heading northbound on Monterey, ran a red light and struck another car, which was crossing Monterey on San Gorgonio.
The force of the impact caused the Tundra to slide into the insurance building.
The 43-year-old driver and a 3-year-old child inside the other car suffered minor injuries, and were transported to Eisenhower Medical Center as a precaution.
The driver of the Tundra was not injured.
It took about an hour to clear the the scene, and any traffic backups were alleviated by 2 p.m.
