Academy Of Country Music Applauds Rancho Mirage Casino Resort
The folks at the Academy of Country Music nominated the Agua Caliente Casino Resort and Spa as one of their favorite desert spots, a casino spokeswoman said today.
The casino was nominated for “Casino of the Year” by the Academy of County Music for the second straight year. It is among of five finalists for the honor, which will be given at the Academy of Country Music Awards, which is will be held in Nashville next fall.

The casino’s talent buyer, Billy Brill, was also nominated by ACM for the “Don Romero Talent Buyer of the Year” award, Agua Caliente spokeswoman Therese Everett-Kerley said.
The other casinos nominated include: Island Resort Casino (Harris, Mich.); Mohegan Sun Casino (Uncasville, Conn.); Peppermill Casino (Wendover, Nev.) and WinStar World Casino (Thackerville, Okla.).
The back-to-back nominations come after the casino opened The Show, its 2,000-seat concert theater in February 2009. The venue has been nominated for “Best New Major Concert Venue” by readers of Pollstar Magazine, Everett- Kerley said.
