A 27-year-old Indio man accused of inflicting fatal injuries to his mother pleaded not guilty today to a murder charge.
Daniel Castro allegedly attacked 51-year-old Ofelia Guzman at their Baltimore Street home about 7 a.m. Monday. She died Tuesday at 5:42 p.m. at Desert Regional Medical Center, a coroner’s investigator said.
Castro, whose bail was set at $1 million, is due back on court on Feb. 14 for a felony settlement conference.
