Top Prosecutor Heads President’s Day Parade At Riverside County Fair

Riverside County’s top prosecutor will be the grand marshal of the 2011 Presidents’ Day Parade at the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival, it was announced today.

District Attorney Paul Zellerbach was elected in June and took over the office at the beginning of the year.

The annual parade will take place Feb. 21, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Miles Avenue and Deglet Noor Street. Applications to be a parade participant can be found on the fair’s website, according to spokeswoman JoAnn Terrell Cornelius.

The 65th annual county fair runs from Feb. 18-27 at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio.

Zellerbach served 22 years in the District Attorney’s Office before moving into the top spot. He is active in many community organizations, including the Riverside County High School Mock Trial Program, Riverside Human Relations Commission and Riverside Family Services Association Board of Directors, Cornelius said.
