Riverside County Leaders Search For Women Of The Year

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors is looking to honor five women who have excelled in community leadership, it was announced today.

“The Women of the Year awards present an excellent opportunity to recognize some truly special women whose leadership and heart for service make Riverside County a better place,” Supervisor John Benoit said.

The five winners — one per supervisorial district — will be honored at the April 5 Board of Supervisors meeting.

Nominations are being sought for women who work to bring about social and economic change, promote women’s equality, serve as role models to young women and work on behalf of women’s issues, county spokesman Darin Schemmer said.

Applications will be accepted through Feb. 14 and can be accessed on the Commission for Women website .
