Deadly Palm Springs Car Crash Closed Roads

A Palmdale man died today when he drove through a red light at a Palm Springs intersection and his pickup truck was struck by another vehicle.

Jeffrey Bowers, 47, died about 15 minutes after the 8:16 a.m. crash at San Rafael Road and Palm Canyon Drive, even though he was wearing a seat belt, according to the Riverside County coroner.

Bowers was driving west on San Rafael and the sedan was traveling south on Palm Canyon when Bowers drove through the red light and the two vehicles collided, causing his pickup to flip over, police said.

The driver of the sedan was unhurt, police said.
