Gunshot Victim Walks Into Indio Hospital

A man suffering a gunshot wound walked into JFK Hospital in Indio on Monday seeking treatment, according to Indio police spokesman Ben Guitron.

The man told investigators he was shot around 3 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Avenue 52 and Tripoli in Coachella.

He said he got into an argument with a 20-year-old Hispanic man who was in a grey Honda. The argument got heated, and the man in the car pulled out an assault rifle, fired several rounds, hitting the victim once.

Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area to locate where the shooting happened, and find any signs of the car.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening wounds.

If you have any information on this shooting, call the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
