Thermal Motorsports Brings Luxury Racing Club To Valley

The Coachella Valley will soon be home to one of North America’s premier luxury racing clubs. Thermal Motorsports Track and Club plans to break ground this summer on a safe and fast track that will provide a first-class driving experience. “It’s basically you’re paying dues on a monthly basis, to drive your car fast whenever you want, and have no red lights flashing behind you,” said managing partner Blake Miraglia.

The track will be built on a 344 acre plot of land in Thermal, next to the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport, making it convenient for clients to arrive and drive. “People can fly in from all over the world with an 85-foot runway,” said managing partner Paul Clayton. “It’s extremely convenient. It’s something that the manufacturers really like, because they can fly their clients in and really have a first class experience.”

The experience goes beyond just the track. Thermal has teamed with PGA West and the La Quinta Resort to offer their members full access to the amenities at their clubs. The unique partnership will be the first of its kind in the nation. “When you have the opportunity to combine two major sports, motor racing and golf, this presents an opportunity that first of all, is landmark,” said PGA West executive director Mike Kelly. “This is unprecedented across the United States today.”

The track’s benefits go beyond just its members though. It will provide many jobs for people in the east valley. “With unemployment as high as it is today, and when you see so many jobs go away, to be able to bring this project here, you’re going to generate all these new jobs and to bring businesses to the valley that have never been here before.”

The track is projected to open by the end of the year.
