Accused Dog Killer To Stand Trial

A man at one time wanted by police will now face three more felony charges, including cruelty to animals.

A Riverside County judge ordered Raymond Alfred Espinoza to stand trial on new charges stemming from the killing of his girlfriend’s dog on her kitchen floor in Palm Springs.

The dig was shot and killed on the evening of May 16 at her home on the 1900 block of Marguerite. Officers arrived to find a pit bull dead on the floor.

The woman at the home told police her ex-boyfriend, Espinoza, had shot the dog and left.

Police considered Espinoza armed and dangerous, and urged the public not to approach him.

Shortly before 11 a.m. on May 19, police responded to the Motel 6 on the 69500 block of Highway 111 in Rancho Mirage, near Frank Sinatra, where Espinoza was surrendered to police.
