Fire Scorches More Than 100 Acres
A brush fire scorched 120 acres within about two hours today in the unincorporated county area of Aguanga, but no structures were threatened, according to Cal Fire.
The blaze broke out just before 1 p.m. and was 10 percent contained by 2:39 p.m., said Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire.
No injuries had been reported as of 3 p.m., Hendrickson said.
The fire was first reported in an area of light grass near the intersection of State Route 79 and Sage Road, she said. Hendrickson said 136 firefighters were dispatched.
