Water District, Workers At Impasse In Negotiations

More than 375 union workers with the Coachella Valley Water District are at an impasse in their negotiations with the district.

Many workers for the SEIU 721 union turned out Tuesday morning for a rally designed as a show of power and to send a message that they stand firm behind their demands.

Some workers claim the district broke promises. Others claimed the district was forcing some of its employees into early retirement.

The CVWD had no comment on the impasse.
