Crash On I10 Shuts Down Eastbound Lanes At SR62

Traffic is back up to speed on Interstate 10 after a crash near SR-62 shut down 3 eastbound lanes Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

An unidentified woman driving a Chevy Tahoe, that was pulling a travel trailer, lost control while passing a motor home towing a vehicle, said Officer Joe Zagorski. The travel trailer hit the side of the motor home, causing the SUV to overturn.

The crash shutdown 3 lanes out on the eastbound side of the Interstate around 12:33 PM.

Officers on scene used a patrol car to move the SUV and clear the #3 eastbound lane to allow traffic to pass and alleviate the traffic back up, that at one point extended to White Water, according to Zagorski.

All lanes on I-10 reopened just before 3:00 PM.

No injuries to report from the crash. And no additional accidents caused because of the traffic back up.

It’s not know if speeding was a factor, but the wind in the area is not believed to have played a role.
