The Desert Celebrates The Oscars
The desert did it Hollywood style for the 84th Academy Awards.
Trio restaurant in Palm Springs held the “Hollywood’s Biggest Night” dinner before a previewing of the Oscars.
An orange carpet in honor of Trio’s color scheme welcomed guests to the restaurant.
“I think it’s a good thing, a good cause and a lot of fun,” Donald Eigendorff said.
Tickets cost $150 per person and $200 for VIP seating, and proceeds go to benefit AIDS Assistance Program.
“(It’s) an organization that feeds individuals with HIV. This year, we should probably raise over 10,000,” Trio co-owner Tony Marchese said.
To ensure the Hollywood feel, guests received gift bags with a makeover book, a bottle of champagne and various gift cards to restaurants and shops in palm springs.
In Cathedral City at the Mary Pickford Theater — another viewing party.
“Everybody likes a chance to get dressed, always,” Atma Wiseman said.
Guests had the chance to watch those big screen stars on a big screen. A night of glamour in the desert — people say it only makes sense.
“It’s an adjunct of Los Angeles. We’re known for film here with the Film Festival starting the brand new year,” Atma said.
“Palm Springs has a real Hollywood background so it’s great to come out and go to an Oscar event like this in Palm Springs,” Eigendorff said.
Events such as these — never in short supply.
