Police Make Arrest in Indio Shooting

Police say finding a Ford Expedition used in a Friday afternoon shooting lead them to their suspect.

Tadeo Jimmy Garcia, 21, was driving the car down the 81-700 block of Santa Barbara St Saturday, according to police reports. When the Special Enforcement Team pulled Garcia over and searched the car, they found a handgun inside loaded with the same kind of bullets found at the scene of the shooting. Detectives found more evidence implicating Garcia in the crime, according to Police.

A passenger in the car at the time of the arrest was interviewed and released.

Police say they still don’t have a motive for the attack.

The victim is still recovering at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Avenue 46 and Duquesne Street around 4 p.m. Friday. That’s where they found a man inside a blue Ford F-150 truck suffering from a gunshot.

Witnesses told police the gunman or gunmen were seen speeding off in a red Ford Expedition heading north on Duquesne Street.
