Hemet Woman Dies On San Jacinto Rock Climb

A Hemet woman fell to her death while rock climbing in Massacre Canyon near San Jacinto, a Riverside County coroner’s spokesman said today.

Rosalie Gomez-Hernandez, 30, died on the spot, about an hour after her fall, according to the coroner’s office.

Gomez-Hernandez fell while climbing between two waterfalls about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Cheri Patterson said. She died while paramedics were working on her.

Massacre Canyon is about a mile southeast of Sanderson Avenue (79) and Gilman Springs Road.
