2 men wanted for Bermuda Dunes robbery

Authorities sought the public’s help today to find two men who robbed a Bermuda Dunes resident at gunpoint, along with the driver who helped them get away.

The robbery was reported at a residence in the 43000 block of Culebra Lane in Bermuda Dunes around 3:20 p.m. Thursday, sheriff’s Sgt. Steve DaSilva said.

“The victim answered a knock at the front door and two males armed with handguns forced their way into the residence. The two suspects demanded money
and assaulted the victim,” DaSilva said.

The man, whose name was withheld, was able to escape and run to a neighbor’s residence to call 911. His injuries were minor, the sergeant said.

The suspects made their getaway in a silver or tan sedan, possibly a Honda or Toyota, driven by another man, DaSilva said.

One of the robbers was described as being an Hispanic man in his 20s, about 200 pounds, with a shaved head, wearing a tan shirt and blue jeans. The other is also Hispanic and in his 20s, and was wearing a gray sweatshirt and black pants.
Anyone with information about the suspects’ identities or whereabouts was asked to contact Investigator Andy Martinez at (760) 863-8305, or Coachella Valley Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-7867.
